According to Sharjeel Imam “...if we can organise five lakh people, we will be able to permanently cut off Assam from India. If not permanently, then at least for a month or two... Create ruckus on railway tracks and roads so that it takes them (the government) at least a month to clear things on the ground. It is our responsibility to isolate Assam. They (government) will hear us only if we cut off Assam and India.”

 Education of Sharjeel imam

Sharjeel is a Ph.D. student at Jawaharlal Nehru University’s Centre for Historical studies.he is an alumnus of IIT-Bombay, from where he completed his B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science. He also did his M.A. in Modern History and M.Phil in Modern Indian History from JNU. Sharjeel has frequently switched between studies and jobs. At present, he is pursuing Ph.D. in Modern Indian History from JNU.

Chakka Jam and Protest

Sharjeel was quite active about the Shaheen Bagh protests on a regular basis. Since the protests against CAA and NRC , he has been sharing posts asking people to join the agitation, sharing videos of speakers addressing protesters at different places, and explaining the difference between chakka jam and protest, calling Shaheen Bagh protests a chakka jam.

Past Cyclone Disaster

In May 2021, India was hit by a powerful cyclone named Cyclone Yaas . The cyclone made landfall on the eastern coast of India, affecting the states of West Bengal and Odisha. The cyclone brought heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges, causing widespread damage and displacement. According to reports, at least two people were killed, and several others were injured due to the cyclone.
